Letter from a friend
“It was a fun to climb up on foot. After I have covered about one mile, I found myself walking up through the deep forest. Sometimes I met the people who come down from pagoda. I occasionally hear sweet song of singing birds. Sometimes I hear the sound of water fall coming from the forest but I can't see it.”
This morning I got a letter from my friend. He shared his trip to Kyaikhtiyoe Pagoda with his Australian friend. Although it is a personal letter, it is worth sharing with you all so that you all can feel and enjoy his trip to the pagoda.
Dear friend,
I enjoyed our short time with Ken very much in Kyaikhtiyoe. We arrived at The Kin Pun Camp at 3:15pm and spend a night at Seasar Gust House. And Next morning at 7:00 o'clock we start our journey from the base camp to the top of Kyaikhteyoe. I climb up on foot and Ken on truck car because it's not easy to climb half and seven miles up for his age.
It was a fun to climb up on foot. After I have covered about one mile, I found myself walking up through the deep forest. Sometimes I met the people who come down from pagoda. I occasionally hear sweet song of singing birds. Sometimes I hear the sound of water fall coming from the forest but I can't see it. I often cross the small stream. The water in it is so clean and cool. After I walked up for two hours I found a quite big rock standing beside a stream and I sat on it and took a rest blowing burger a sweet song. Just a few minutes rest under a good shake of nice tree and breathing fresh air can make me refresh. I really felt the natural beauty of forest and ranges of mountains and sweet smell of wild flowers. I could see many shops which sell some drinks and food along the way. The meat of wild animals is available in every shop.
It took about four hours to get at the top of mountain. When I got there Ken had rent a room in Kyaikhto Hotel. After taking a rest for a few minutes we went out for lunch. After that I went to pay my respect to Kyaikhteyoe Pagoda and said my prayer. We spent one night and one day there and climb down to catch 1:00 bus to Yangon.
It was the first time and really enjoyable journey for me. I shared it with you and hope you can feel it.
Warmest regards
Aung

ႊThis letter, I think, is the most impressive letter which can give the feeling of travelling with the writer on reading it.
